The “Mother of Comedy” also feels the influence of the college comedy boom

Takano: I heard that you feel a big change in your evaluation and awareness of comedy.

Kojima: The recent trend is that more and more people are joining comedy clubs and want to try comedy from a young age.

Takano: In a university comedy club?

Kojima: That’s right. In the past, there were people who started comedy in rakugo clubs, but now it is comedy clubs. There are competitions and tournaments for comedy circles, and we decide who is the best in Japan. However, just because you join the circle doesn’t mean you are serious about becoming a comedian. Some people join because it is advantageous for job hunting.

Celeina:I see!

Kojima: It seems that standing in front of people helps them evaluate their communication skills as different from others or something, and some of them have become very successful salespeople.

Takano: It’s hard enough just to speak in front of people, but to make them laugh is a very advanced skill.

Kojima: So until now, it was difficult to say out loud that you were in comedy, but nowadays it is possible to say so without hesitation.

Celeina:It is interesting. If you are looking for a circle, a lesson, or a hobby, try comedy.

Takano: Maybe there is such a thing as comedy as a business skill.

Celeina: “FIST BUMP,” a circle of friends connected by goo touch! So, you will introduce your friends to us. What kind of people do you introduce to us, Ms.Kojima?

Kojima: I would like to introduce Manjyu Daiteikoku, a comic storyteller who belongs to TITAN CO..

Takano: I had never heard of them.

Kojima: They’re a very popular comedian in the theater, and They’re a young employee from the same agency that includes Bakusho Mondai. They’re currently working hard on stage, but I’m sure they’ll be a great comedian in the future.

Takano: In a word?

Kojima: A manzai performer who will lead the next generation.

Takano: I’m curious about them. I would like to hear a lot about you. Tomorrow, we will welcome two members of Manjyu Daiteikoku.

Celeina: Today we have Kina Kojima from K-PRO, which organizes and hosts comedy live performances. Thank you very much!
