The film ‘PERFECT DAYS’ will begin exclusive streaming on Prime Video starting Friday, December 20.
Released in Japan in December 2023, the film was inspired by THE TOKYO TOILET project, which renovates public restrooms in Shibuya. The story follows Hirayama, a quiet and diligent toilet cleaner in Shibuya, whose life takes an unexpected turn as events subtly shake his past. Koji Yakusho stars as Hirayama, a role that earned him the Best Actor Award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Directed and written by Wim Wenders, the film also features co-writing and production by creative director Takuma Takasaki.
The film has been selected as Japan’s official entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film and has won major accolades at the Japan Academy Film Prize, including Best Director for Wenders and Best Actor for Yakusho.
