This exhibition, which offers a unique perspective on the creative process behind manga, is a grand tribute to ONE PIECE and a love letter to the work created by Eiichiro Oda. I feel proud to be a part of it, proud to contribute to bringing it to the world. After experiencing the exhibition, a warm sense of pride stayed with me. Furthermore, every reader who buys Weekly Shonen Jump or the comics, and visits the exhibition, is undoubtedly part of this journey—a member of the “crew.”
Luffy is the man destined to become the Pirate King, and ONE PIECE, the world’s best-selling manga, is the work that will become the king of manga. Thinking about my small role in its creation, as I leave the venue and take a step forward, I can’t help but feel like the familiar “Don!” sound effect is echoing with each step I take.
