The appeal of Komae City, the hometown that comes to mind when I hear the word “Tokyo”
Celeina:Today’s program is calling for tanka poems on the theme of “Tokyo.” Where are you from, Mr.Buna?
Buna: I am from Komae City in Tokyo.
Celeina: You must be very familiar with Tokyo. Are there any words that come to mind when you hear the word “Tokyo”?
Buna: I thought about it a lot, but the only word that comes to mind is “local. When I go to the countryside, I feel at ease in Tokyo, so I feel like I’m in “Repeten Tokyo.
Takano: What do you like about your hometown, Komae City?
Buna: It’s a place where grandparents seem to live comfortably. Recently, Komae Yuu has reopened (in April 2023) and other hot places are becoming more and more popular, but it is a place where time passes slowly with fields and the Tama River.
Celeina: The word “Tokyo” conjures up images of the city, but in fact there are many local places as well.
Takano: I also love the relaxed atmosphere of grandparents.
Celeina:You have talked about the charms of your hometown, Komae City, but what do you think about the charms of Tokyo again?
Buna:I think Tokyo is the newest place in the world.
Celeina:When you have guests from overseas, you sometimes talk about it, don’t you?
Buna: Yes. Many people get tattoos as a memory of their trip to Tokyo, so I really feel that Tokyo is an attractive city even from overseas. I want to stay in Tokyo for a long time.
Celeina:I like that. Tokyo is becoming more and more attractive. Today we have Mr. Buna, the manager of TATTOO STUDIO YAMADA. Thank you very much.
