Filmmaker/director Kosaku Shimamoto’s monozukuri is to “somehow bring the one back to zero”.

#MUSIC

Do you make music and videos by breaking down existing concepts?

Celeina:You mentioned earlier that you were going to return one to zero. Is this a nuance of breaking down fixed concepts of what is meaningful?

Shimamoto: I don’t intend it to be destructive, myself.

Takano: But I think I understand it very well. In advertising work, there is an intention and intent behind everything. On the other hand, I think everyone is concerned about what kind of world they will see when they remove the semantics. I feel that artistry resides in what we unconsciously focus on and what is outside of our own consciousness. Sorry, I’m getting very serious.

Shimamoto: No, no, you summed it up well. Thank you very much. I’ll use that answer next time (haha).

Takano: I am becoming more and more interested in Mr.Shimamoto, who is also a musician and makes very interesting videos as well, and has a wide range of activities. And in today’s program, we are looking for messages from you on the theme of “Christmas troubles.

Shimamoto:A man named Iiba-kun (friend #4) is involved in an activity called “Going to Fuji Soba alone on Christmas night” every year.Even tough he has a wife and child.

Celeina: He goes to Fuji Soba by himself?

Shimamoto: Yes. Last year, he went to Fuji Soba in Ebisu, Matsuya in Shibuya, and so on.

Celeina: What was your intention behind this?

Shimamoto: I think I am confronting the situation itself, “It’s Christmas and I’m all alone.

Takano: So you have a family, but you dare to make time for them?

Shimamoto: It seems so.

Celeina: This would also be like breaking down existing concepts, wouldn’t it?

Shimamoto: He may be imposing “Christmas troubles” on himselves, I don’t know. But I really felt like I was taking on the challenge of Christmas.

Takano: I think so. It means that they are making time for it.

Shimamoto: The two of you take every conversation seriously. That’s amazing.

Takano: We take it all in like a memory Foam Pillow.

Celeina:Thank you, Mr. Shimamoto, for an enjoyable talk. Now, in “FIST BUMP,” you are introducing your friends to each other as part of a circle of friends connected by goo touch but what kind of people does Shimamoto introduce to us?

Shimamoto:It’s Iichiro Tanaka, an artist (Friend #5).

Celeina: In a word, how would you describe him?

Shimamoto:A no-message man.

Takano: That seems to be connected to today’s story.

Shimamoto:Um, is this description enough ……?

Celeina: I will talk to him tomorrow. Tomorrow, We will connect to the artist, Iichiro Tanaka. Today we welcomed the video artist and director Shimamoto Kosaku.Thank you very much.

Shimamoto: Thank you very much.
