The Profound World of Buddha Machines. Hao Hao Hao, who continues to collect, explains

I dare you to go to Chinatown in a non-Chinese country.

Celeina: Once again, what is the appeal of Buddha Machine as you feel it, Hao Hao?

Hao Hao: Originally, I was attracted by the pop appearance, the quality of the music, and the coolness of the Buddhist chanting, but I also wondered what this Buddhist chanting meant, even though I didn’t understand Chinese. I was also made aware of the depth of Buddhism by researching the meaning of the Buddhist chanting, even though I did not know Chinese. Also, as Mr. Takano mentioned earlier, I feel the romance in the fact that there are songs and Buddhist prayers of monks that can only be heard on this Buddha Machine.

Takano: I’m getting more and more interested in it as I listen to you. There are so many variations, and it’s fun.

Celeina: Mr. Hao Hao, you collect while traveling, right?

Hao Hao: Yes, that’s right.

Celeina: You have been to 40 countries so far, do you remember the first country you visited?

Hao Hao: I first met him in Jakarta, Indonesia, and from there I went to many countries. I try to go to Asian countries because there are usually Buddhists living there, so there is a high probability that there is a Buddha machine there, but then I gradually get tired of it.

Takano: It becomes routine.

Hao Hao: That’s right. That’s why I try to go to Chinatowns overseas.

Takano: It’s kind of nice to go to a Chinatown in a non-Chinese country.

Celeina: That ‘s professional. Are there any countries you enjoyed visiting recently?

Hao Hao: Recently, I went to Georgia, a country located between Asia and Europe, where flea markets are very popular. You can buy some really cool ornaments there for about 500 yen, but as I call myself “Hao Hao Hao of Light and Sound,” I collect shiny things. I collect shiny things, and recently I’ve been into looking for good things among such trash.

Takano: I would love to see your collection room. I want to go visit.

Hao Hao: Please come.

Celeina: Now, FIST BUMP is a circle of friends connected by goofy things, so we are asking you to introduce us to your friends.

Hao Hao: This is Tinkerbell Hatsuno.

Celeina: What is your relationship?

Hao Hao: He is an artist, and I was a fan of his music in the first place, but we also worked together at a stall. Tinkerbell-san is in a band called “Various Crosses,” and when I sold items with shiny crosses, he bought some of them.

Takano: The cross connection?

Hao Hao: It’s a cross connection.

Celeina: In a word, what kind of person are you?

Hao Hao: He is an amazing person who keeps doing things that are like jokes, but with a very high quality.

Takano: Thank you very much. Tomorrow we will welcome Tinkerbell Hatsuno.

Celeina: “FIST BUMP” today was Hao Hao Hao, collector of Buddha Machines and owner of a store specializing in light and sound. Thank you very much.

Hao Hao: Thank you very much.
