The daily lineup for SUMMER SONIC 2026 has been unveiled, revealing how artists will be split across the festival’s Tokyo and Osaka dates.
The long-running summer event returns August 14–16 with simultaneous editions at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Chiba and Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the festival will expand to three days for the first time, up from its traditional two-day format.
So far, 40 artists have been confirmed. The first wave included THE STROKES, L’Arc-en-Ciel, and JAMIROQUAI, followed by a second announcement featuring BUMP OF CHICKEN and BABYMETAL.
The newly released schedule reveals which artists will perform on each day and in each city. Tokyo on Aug. 14 mirrors Osaka on Aug. 15, Tokyo on Aug. 15 mirrors Osaka on Aug. 16, and Tokyo on Aug. 16 mirrors Osaka on Aug. 14. BUMP OF CHICKEN, Suchmos, and BABYMONSTER will appear only in Tokyo, while JENNIE’s performance date remains to be announced.
The opening day pairing — Tokyo Aug. 14 / Osaka Aug. 15 — brings together a cross-section of rock and forward-thinking pop, with THE STROKES, BUMP OF CHICKEN, FKA TWIGS, KASABIAN, and KESHI among the highlights.
On Tokyo Aug. 15 / Osaka Aug. 16, DAVID BYRNE and Sakanaction share the bill alongside ALEX WARREN, STEVE LACY, and UK rock veterans SUEDE. The headliner for this day will be revealed at a later date.
The final day pairing — Tokyo Aug. 16 / Osaka Aug. 14 — will be led by L’Arc-en-Ciel, celebrating their 35th anniversary and making their SUMMER SONIC debut as headliners. The lineup also features JAMIROQUAI, BABYMETAL — who will curate a special stage — LE SSERAFIM, mgk, and more.
Further artist announcements and stage details are expected in the coming weeks.
1-Day tickets and Platinum 1-Day tickets will go on sale through the Creativeman members pre-sale at noon on March 14, followed by the official advance sale starting noon on March 21. Meanwhile, Tokyo’s 3-Day tickets and Platinum 3-Day tickets have already sold out.
