A new pop-up dedicated to Haruomi Hosono’s discography, “Hosono Record House,” is set to take over New Gallery in Jimbocho from December 19 to January 25, 2026.

The limited-run store will gather a broad selection of Hosono’s works, spotlighting eight key releases from recent years—from the 2007 album “FLYING SAUCER 1947” to the 2021 set “Music for Films 2020–2021.” Fans can explore a curated snapshot of his enduring, wide-ranging output.
・”FLYING SAUCER 1947″ (Released September 2007)
・”HoSoNoVa” (Released April 2011)
・”Heavenly Music” (Released May 2013)
・”Vu Jà Dé” (Released November 2017)
・”Shoplifters (Original Soundtrack)” (Released June 2018)
・”HOCHONO HOUSE” (Released March 2019)
・”Amerika / Hosono Haruomi Live in US 2019″ (Released February 2021)
・”Music for Films 2020–2021″ (Released December 2021)
Hosono’s deep affinity for country and roots music, his self cover album “HOCHONO HOUSE,” his contributions to film including the score for ”Shoplifters,” and his U S performance release “Amerika / Hosono Haruomi Live in US 2019” will all be featured. The pop up offers a chance to trace the evolution of his recent creative path, spanning vocal works, roots music, and film composition.
A newly conducted long form interview reflecting on the eight featured titles will also be available in a booklet sold at the venue. It delves into the keywords behind each work, stories from their creation, and the ideas and perspectives that shaped Hosono’s output. In addition to the recent releases, the venue will also showcase analog and CD editions of other titles Hosono has contributed to across his career.
To coincide with the event, the digital museum “HOSONO MANDALA” will launch in a pre open phase, with its full opening planned for summer 2026.
