‘GHOST IN THE SHELL’ 4K Remastered will receive a two-week limited theatrical revival starting Friday, October 31.
Based on Masamune Shirow’s sci-fi comic Kōkaku Kidōtai, the film was adapted into an animated feature by director Mamoru Oshii. Set in the year 2029, the story follows Major Motoko Kusanagi and Batou of the unofficial, extra-legal special operations unit Public Security Section 9 as they combat computer crimes and cyberterrorism in a highly networked society. Marking 30 years since its original 1995 release, this revival screening will showcase the film in a newly remastered 4K version.
This screening follows consecutive revivals of Oshii’s other works, Patlabor: The Movie and Patlabor 2: The Movie. Original admission bonuses will also be offered for this screening, with details to be announced at a later date.
