The lineup for Blue Note JAZZ FESTIVAL in JAPAN 2025, taking place on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 at Ariake Arena in Koto, Tokyo, has been further expanded.
Hosted by Blue Note New York, the festival first launched in 2011 and has become a staple of early summer in New York, featuring jazz and a wide range of music across multiple venues over the course of a month. In Japan, the festival debuted in 2015 at an outdoor stage at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, and since 2024 has been held at the new venue, Ariake Arena. Prior announcements had confirmed headliners Norah Jones and Niia, as well as Don Was & Pan Detroit Ensemble and Valerie June on Saturday, September 27, and Daichi Miura and Incognito on Sunday, September 28.
The fourth batch of artists has now been revealed, completing the full lineup and the daily schedule.
On the first day, Saturday, September 27, Grammy-winning vocal group TAKE6 will make their first-ever joint performance with the jazz orchestra led by composer and conductor Miho Hazama under the billing Take6 with Miho Hazama Jazz Orchestra. Pianist Amaro Freitas, known for performances that transcend borders while drawing on his Brazilian roots, will also appear.
On the second day, Sunday, September 28, West Coast funk band Tower of Power, still active after more than 55 years, will perform. Also appearing is SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS, performing with guitarist and producer Ryosuke Nagaoka under the billing SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS with special guest Ryosuke Nagaoka, who tours in 31 countries worldwide.
