Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco has announced an additional concert date for his upcoming Japan tour in February 2026.
DeMarco first caught the attention of Japanese audiences with his 2017 album This Old Dog and went on to headline the RED MARQUEE stage at the 2018 FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. In 2019, he launched his own label, Mac’s Record Label, and his fourth album, Here Comes The Cowboy, marked his debut in the US Top 10 charts. A fan of Haruomi Hosono and YMO, DeMarco released a fully Japanese-language cover of Honey Moon in 2018 and contributed a cover of Boku wa Issun to the 2024 tribute album HOSONO HOUSE COVER.
Originally scheduled to visit five cities—Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Tokyo—the tour quickly sold out in Kyoto and Tokyo. In response, an additional show has been added on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Tokyo’s KANDA SQUARE HALL. Tickets for the extra date are available via a first-come, first-served official advance sale on e+ until August 24.
In addition, Mac DeMarco is set to release his first studio album in nearly six years, Guitar, on August 22 through Mac’s Record Label. Recorded in his Los Angeles home studio in late 2024, DeMarco took charge of mixing, directing music videos, and shooting the album artwork. The album was mastered by David Ives. DeMarco described the new work as “a symbol of where I currently stand in my life, created by putting as much as I could down on paper.” He expressed excitement about sharing the music and performing it live across many venues. Music videos for the tracks Home and Holy have already been released.
