The organizers of Hashinoshita Dai Bon Odori SOUL BEAT ASIA 2025 have revealed the second batch of performers for the three-day event, set to take place from August 14 to 16 at Sengoku Park in Toyota, Aichi.
Launched in 2012 as the Hashinoshita World Music Festival, the event is spearheaded by a volunteer committee including Aiki Nagayama of local band TURTLE ISLAND and production company microAction. The festival is held beneath the Toyota Bridge within Sengoku Park, adjacent to Toyota Stadium. Celebrated as an independent festival, it showcases indigenous performing arts, music, and crafts from Japan and neighboring Asian countries, along with contemporary artists rooted in the region’s culture.
Bon Odori, a traditional Japanese summer dance festival, is a central feature of the event. Held during the Obon season, it is a time for honoring ancestors through communal circle dances accompanied by festive music and drums. Participants often wear colorful yukata (summer kimono), making it both a cultural ritual and lively community celebration.
The newly announced lineup includes folk music group Minyo Crusaders, the band Odotte Bakari no Kuni, vocalist Sonoko Inoue, and Korean acts WINDY CITY trio (guest: KIM AESU) and ROOTSREDEEM. Traditional folk performers from across Japan, such as Awa Odori Nagoya Taikoren, Ise Daikagura Kousha (Harutayu Yamamoto group), Edo string puppeteer Mitsuru Kamijo, and Futago-ryu Tokyo Onikenbai, will also take part.
Earlier announced headliners include GEZAN, OKI DUB AINU BAND, Sekibari Pistols, Mutsumi Yanagiya & THE RATBONES, Yohei Miyake with Sho Akasu, and HUUN-HUUR-TU from the Tuva Republic.
Tickets go on general sale July 4 at noon via eplus. Sponsorships and vendor applications are currently open, with lantern sponsorships accepted through July 20.
