Singer-songwriter Nagisa Murakami will release her new single “Kahen” digitally on Wednesday, July 16.
Based mainly in Tokyo’s live house scene, Murakami is known for her folk-rooted songs paired with a flexible groove and her rich, wavering voice. In January, she released her first mini-album, “Riyu ha Nai (No Reason),” which includes a track produced by Yuma Abe (never young beach).
“Kahen” is a song that reflects on the eyes watching the process of flowers blooming and withering, taking a different approach from her previous works. On the release day, she will hold a self-produced band concert called “Park” at Shimokitazawa THREE in Tokyo. This event, featuring a band setup, complements her regular solo event “Ura-niwa” (Backyard). The guest acts include Furoshiki, Ålborg, and THE Tiba. Tickets are available for reservation on TIGET.
