Tokyo-based web magazine NiEW has announced that its popular free monthly event exPoP!!!!! will evolve into a paid festival for the first time with exPoP!!!!! Reunion 2025, scheduled for Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Since its inception in 2007, exPoP!!!!! has held more than 180 free-entry events, including special editions, building a loyal following by showcasing emerging and diverse musical talent. The upcoming festival marks a significant expansion, transforming the event into a circuit-style festival across seven venues in Shibuya: Spotify O-nest, Spotify O-EAST, Spotify O-west, duo MUSIC EXCHANGE, clubasia, WOMB LIVE, and 7th FLOOR.
The lineup for exPoP!!!!! Reunion 2025 has yet to be announced, but fans can expect a curated selection of artists in line with the event’s history of fresh and eclectic programming.
In anticipation of the festival, NiEW Editor-in-Chief Mansaku Kashiwai, alongside the NiEW editorial team and exPoP!!!!! staff, released a joint statement expressing excitement and commitment to delivering a memorable experience for attendees.

exPoP!!!!! started back in 2007 as a free space where words on a screen couldn’t capture the raw energy of live music. We wanted you to feel that power up close, in the moment. Since then, it’s grown, and in 2023, NiEW took up the torch to carry that spirit forward.
We often meet people who say, “I saw that artist at exPoP!!!!! back when I was a student,” or bump into fans who found us by chance in their daily lives. Those stories tell us why this journey matters — because it’s about connection, growth, and the magic that only time and continuity can create.
There’s something special about reuniting. Not by coincidence, but by choice. When music lovers bring the event’s spirit back into their lives — sharing, discovering, inspiring — culture spreads in ways you can’t predict.
After nearly 200 events and 18 years, imagine what happens when all these changed selves meet again. New sparks will fly — different, unexpected, thrilling. And for those just discovering exPoP!!!!! now, imagine the countless new beginnings waiting to happen.
This isn’t nostalgia. It’s a new chapter. The same spirit, but with fresh faces and sounds, gathering across Shibuya’s Dogenzaka for exPoP!!!!! Reunion. It’s bigger, bolder, and it’s waiting for you.
To old friends, we can’t wait to see you again. To new friends, welcome — we’ve been waiting for you. Let’s set aside the everyday and dive into the joy of music, reunion, and discovery.
The earliest ticket lottery for the 5,000 yen “exPoP!!!!! Donation” will begin on Monday, June 9 at 12:00 PM. At the same time, discounted tickets will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis: 100 yen for middle school students and 4,000 yen for those under 23. Information on how to apply and the list of performers will be announced later on the official website, as well as on exPoP!!!!!’s X and NiEW’s Instagram.

exPoP!!!!! began in 2007 fueled by frustration — frustration over talented artists being overlooked, and the misconception that live music venues were off-limits. We decided to cover the cost ourselves, hoping you’d simply come and feel the energy of the place.
From day one, our passion has been for independent, alternative culture — artists who dare to break free from the ordinary and sharpen their craft. For 18 years, we’ve built a space where music breathes life into people’s souls. Those countless connections have inspired exPoP!!!!! Reunion.
Then came the pandemic, forcing plans like CROSSING CARNIVAL online and pausing exPoP!!!!! It made us reflect on that original frustration and reminded us how precious real gatherings are.
Now, five years on, we’re back — ready to take on the challenge again. Culture never stands still, but we want to pass the torch with heart and purpose.
So yes, this time it’s a paid event. But in return, we’ll pack it with all the passion, excitement, and magic that 18 years have taught us to create.
