HELLO INDIE 2025 Pre-Event THE THREE Set to Rock Zepp Shinjuku with DO MAKE SAY THINK and More
The pre-event for HELLO INDIE 2025, titled HELLO INDIE 2025 -THE THREE-, has been confirmed to take place on Friday, July 11, at Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo. This event serves as a precursor to the main HELLO INDIE 2025 festival, which will be held in Sendai in mid-July.
HELLO INDIE first emerged in 2014 as a multi-venue circuit festival in Sendai, Miyagi, showcasing a diverse range of independent artists. The festival quickly gained a reputation for offering a lineup that stood out from other music events. In 2024, the festival made a triumphant return after a five-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, with the innovative “Pay What You Can” system—where attendees could choose their own ticket prices. This approach, which proved successful in cities such as Tokyo, will continue in 2025, with the main event scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at Sendai PIT.
The pre-event HELLO INDIE 2025 -THE THREE- will feature a stellar lineup, including performances from both local and international bands. Canada’s DO MAKE SAY THINK, a pioneering name in instrumental post-rock, will make their way to Japan for this event. Also taking the stage are HOTEL NEW TOKYO, a Japanese alternative rock band known for their urban sound, punk attitude, and crossover style, as well as LITE, a math-rock outfit that has been making waves internationally through active overseas tours. Both DO MAKE SAY THINK and LITE will also be performing at the main HELLO INDIE 2025 event in Sendai.
Much like the main festival, the pre-event in Shinjuku will follow the “Pay What You Can” model, with attendees free to choose their ticket price through donation boxes and QR codes set up around the venue. However, a mandatory payment for two drinks will be required upon entry.
Tickets for the pre-event will go on official pre-sale from 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, until Sunday, April 27. General sales will open on Saturday, May 17, at 10:00 AM. Although entry to the event is free, tickets are not strictly necessary; however, those who have reserved tickets in advance will be given priority access if the venue reaches full capacity.
