CEIPA (Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association) and the Toyota Group have officially launched the MUSIC WAY PROJECT, a collaborative initiative aimed at supporting and driving the globalization and sustainable growth of the Japanese music industry.
The project brings together the five major music industry organizations that established CEIPA and the global powerhouse Toyota Group, united by the mission of “Japanese music drives the world.” With a focus on “people development” and “creating opportunities,” the project seeks to empower individuals who are challenging the world through music.
As part of the “people development” initiative, the project will introduce student courses in collaboration with domestic universities and online courses for emerging young professionals in the industry. Additionally, it will host co-writing camps, bringing together creators from around the world. In the “creating opportunities” aspect, the project will support the activities of Japanese artists in three key international locations: Los Angeles, USA; London, UK; and Thailand. Plans also include showcase stages across Asia and Europe to enhance exposure and strengthen networks. Furthermore, the upcoming TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, slated to open in Fall 2025 in the Aomi area of Tokyo, will be part of the initiative.
On February 25, CEIPA held a press conference to unveil the MUSIC WAY PROJECT. Attendees included CEIPA Chairman Toshihiro Muramatsu, Toyota Group CEO Akio Toyoda, and composer/Agency for Cultural Affairs Director-General Shunichi Tokura. The event featured presentations and a Q&A session to provide further insight into the project’s goals and future endeavors.
