The highly anticipated ‘SUMMER SONIC 2025’ will take place on August 16 and August 17 in Tokyo and Osaka, and the festival has just revealed its first wave of performers.
Known as “SUMMER SONIC”, the festival is one of Japan’s largest music events, held annually in both Tokyo and Osaka with a lineup featuring top domestic and international artists. In 2024, with MÅNESKIN and BRING ME THE HORIZON as headliners, all shows in both cities sold out. Including the pre-event ‘SONICMANIA’, the festival drew a total of 258,000 attendees.
Now in its 24th edition, the 2025 festival will once again be held at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe for the Tokyo venue and Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park in Suita for the Osaka venue.
The first two acts announced are FALL OUT BOY and Official HIGE DANDism. FALL OUT BOY, traveling from the U.S., will take the stage as one of the headliners. Additional artists are expected to be announced next week.
