Sendai’s ‘HELLO INDIE’ Unveils Timetable: LITE, the band apart, The fin., and Itasca from LA to Perform

The timetable for ‘HELLO INDIE 2024,’ set to take place on Sunday, July 7, at Sendai PIT in Miyagi, has been released.

‘HELLO INDIE’ started as a circuit event across four venues in Sendai in 2014. The festival has hosted numerous artists leading the indie scene, including GEZAN, Lamp, and international acts like the UK’s Bruno Major. From December 2016 to January 2017, it expanded to include events in Matsumoto, Hiroshima, and Saitama.

Returning for the first time in five years since 2019, the 2024 event will feature performances by the band apart, Tamaki ROY, The fin., Uki, Yasei Collective, odol, oono yuuki band, and special guest Itasca, the solo project of LA’s Kayla Cohen. The festival aims to introduce more people to high artistic and musical pursuits while making it easier for music lovers to attend from afar with a “Pay What You Wish” ticketing system.

On the day of the event, performances will alternate between two stages set up at Sendai PIT: the “HELLO STAGE” and the “INDIE STAGE.” The opening act, Giallo, was selected through a joint audition with the music distribution service “FRIENDSHIP.” The “INDIE STAGE” will be headlined by local Sendai hardcore band spike shoes, while the “HELLO STAGE” will be headlined by the internationally touring instrumental rock band LITE.

Admission to the venue is limited to 1,000 people. In case of a large number of visitors, admission will be restricted and those who made reservations in advance will have priority. The “Pay What You Wish” campaign accepts cash as well as electronic payment. Crowdfunding is also being conducted on MotionGallery, where comments of support from the artists appearing in the event are posted, and T-shirts and tote bags featuring the event logo are available as returns.
