 Liner notes for “≒
I was inspired to write this song when I wondered how many things there are in me that do not change over time.
I thought that even though I had reached an age where I was classified as an adult, I still felt the same inside, but it seems that this is not the case.
I have recently learned that people can change as much as they want depending on the environment they are in and the people they associate with.
I want to stay friends with them forever, but I can’t talk to them like I used to.
I was feeling a little depressed because I was encountering more and more such situations, but then I realized that this is a mutual thing.
It is natural for people to change as they grow up, and it is not something to be depressed about.
So whether our values don’t match, our hobbies don’t match, we don’t talk about the same things, or we see each other less often because of it, I love you. I want to keep thinking this.
And as long as I keep this in my mind, no matter how much my appearance or my way of thinking changes,
I believe that my future self will be ≒ connected to my present self.
This song is a reminder to me to keep on working hard and growing, and not to forget this.
