An Intense Experience of Feeling a Profound Connection Beyond Dancing
The moment the performance ended and the lights came on, the faces around me were unforgettable. It was as if our senses had been rewired—our skin tingled, our minds sharpened, and a faint smile lingered on everyone’s lips. There’s something so raw and primal about this experience that even those with no musical knowledge—even children—could find joy in it.
This time, many described the sensation as “pushing past the limits of their senses, as if unlocking a new dimension of perception.” It sounds dramatic, but it’s far from an exaggeration. For me, the physical toll was real—my skin throbbed with the vibrations of the sound waves—but strangely, it left me mentally cleansed, as though I’d been spiritually detoxed. I think it was because the vibrations didn’t just shake my body; they unsettled the foundations of my worldview, making everything shift and sway. The freedom of watching the mental structures I’d built crumble away was exhilarating. And perhaps, this kind of release can only be fully realized when shared collectively in a space alive with so many others.
What stood out most during this performance was how few people were dancing—a surprising sight. Perhaps everyone had been so immersed that they’d “forgotten even to dance.” In the end, ultratronics isn’t just a concert; it’s a ritual. A shared journey into sensory dimensions that stretch far beyond human perception, achieved through the interplay of minimalistic sound, cascading light, and the visualized flow of immense data.
This is an experience that transcends movement—it offers something far more profound. A raw, intense connection that strips away the frameworks of thought and convention, forcing us to confront fundamental questions. It’s a rare and unrelenting encounter that somehow leaves us more connected than ever—a kind of miracle born from shared vulnerability.
And with ∈Y∋, goat, Hakushi Hasegawa, and Alva Noto lined up as opening acts for the upcoming performances, one can’t help but wonder: what new dimensions will those shows reveal?
