AiNA: “I truly loved BiSH — how each of us was facing a different direction, yet it all meant so much to me”

The book doesn’t have a lot of details about BiSH, but I’m sure if you really wanted, you could write an entire separate book about them.
AiNA: That might be true.
The section describing the mood during the final studio rehearsal for the last single “Bye-Bye-Show,” and your heartfelt reflections on each member, was very moving.
AiNA: I was quite awkward myself, but I think every member of BiSH was awkward in their own way. People often called us “weirdos,” but when we were in the group, none of us really thought that way. Looking back now, I realize, “Yeah, we really were kind of weird.” That was just how the group was. Even our conversations were unusual. After going solo, I found myself surprised at how smoothly conversations happen backstage with my band members [laughs]. That’s normal but with BiSH, communication was never that easy.
For example, (Cent Chihiro) Chitchi tended to get more blunt the closer she got to someone — but that was because she felt comfortable. Then there was me, who couldn’t quite pick up on the vibe or communicate well; Momoko Gumi Company, who talked a lot but somehow always seemed a bit out of sync; Hashiyasume Atsuko, who appeared strange and was often a little off in conversations; and RinRin, who seemed odd but was actually the most reliable.
You wrote that Ayuni (D) was always quietly there by your side.
AiNA: Yes. Since she joined last, I didn’t have as many memories with her as with the others. I wanted to talk to her more, to clash with her more. But about three months before we disbanded, during a hall tour, the two of us hugged and cried. tour.
Because the end was near, and maybe you both felt time was running out.
AiNA: Exactly. At that moment, Ayuni tearfully told me, “I don’t want to fight anymore. I just want to laugh more.” I believe she wanted to have more ups and downs and closer moments with me. I felt the same way. That’s why we hugged and cried together.
You both shared the same feelings but needed more time to fully connect.
AiNA: That’s probably why every BiSH member always faced a different direction. And yet, that’s what made us special. It really was a miracle that, even though we were all looking different ways, when we stepped on stage, we somehow faced the same direction. I truly loved BiSH. I loved how we could be so different but come together as one on stage.
