A new multi-venue event titled ”UNDERCITY” is set to debut on Tuesday, March 17, across Ebisu LIQUIDROOM, LIQUID LOFT, KATA, and Time Out Cafe & Diner in Tokyo. Alongside the announcement, the first wave of performers has been revealed.
Positioned around the concept of “Ura Tokyo”—the city’s hidden, underground side—the event brings together organizers and creators who have long operated at the forefront and fringes of Tokyo’s music scene. Five event collectives are jointly involved: NiEW, ARAYAJAPAN, fancyHIM, QETIC, and TOMMY (BOY). Production and staging are handled by technology organizer AVC, visual artist BRDG, and laser artist YAMACHANG, with renowned loud rock label maximum10 serving as creative director under the alias “2nd Function.”
The first lineup announcement features SHIMIZUMASH, TV Tairiku Ondo, Nikoん, and NNULL (MONJOE + KAZUYA OI), with additional bands and DJs to be announced. On the day, the entire LIQUIDROOM complex will be activated, transforming the venue into a four-stage environment that encourages movement and discovery.
The event’s flyer visually reinforces its concept by flipping letters in the logo and venue names, referencing phrases such as “Ura Tokyo” and “Ura Shibuya-ku.” The official event X account has already described the venue as “an entrance to the underground,” hinting at an immersive experience designed to blur the line between stage and audience.
Advance first-come ticket sales are now open via ePlus, with further details including the timetable to be announced on the event’s official X account.
