Sonoko Inoue is set to take her music beyond Japan for the first time this March, announcing debut overseas shows in Taiwan and South Korea.
Rooted in the sounds of 1960s and ’70s folk, rock, blues, country, and bluegrass, Inoue is known for transforming fleeting moments of everyday life into sharply observed, deeply personal songs. Her first album, “Hokorobi,” released in September 2024, quickly drew attention, earning a spot at the 17th CD Shop Awards 2025 and a Special Award at the APPLE VINEGAR – Music Award 2025.
Her Taipei performance on Saturday, March 7, promoted by Romantic Office, has already sold out—an early sign of growing international interest.
In South Korea, Inoue will play two nights in Seoul on March 20 (Friday) and 21 (Saturday) as part of “Strangers Club” Vol.7, a cross-border live series spotlighting Japanese and Korean artists. She will appear with singer-songwriter JUNGWOO on the first night, followed by a joint show with Woo Huijun, a fast-rising name in Korea’s indie scene who began his career in 2025, on the second.
