An immersive attraction inspired by the hit Netflix series ”Squid Game” is coming to Tokyo. ”Netflix Shibuya Real Squid Game” opens on Friday, January 16, at Tokyu Plaza Shibuya (3F, Shibuya Fukuras), offering fans a chance to step directly into the show’s tense, surreal world.
The experience has already generated global buzz, launching in New York in October 2024 before touring Madrid, Seoul’s Seongsu-dong, London, Sydney, and Los Angeles. Now, the wildly popular interactive event makes its Shibuya debut.
Faithfully recreating the universe of ”Squid Game,” the venue requires participants to scan their faces and register as players before taking on six iconic games from the series, including “Red Light, Green Light,” tug-of-war, and marbles. Up to 20 players can compete at a time in what is designed as a full-scale entertainment museum rather than a single attraction.
Beyond the games, visitors can enjoy a collaboration café with original menu items, themed photo zones with special frames, and a merchandise area dubbed “Young-hee’s Playground,” featuring official ”Squid Game” goods.
Tickets go on sale via ePlus from Friday, December 12 at noon. Premium options include tickets bundled with the show’s signature green tracksuit, as well as VIP tickets granting access to the series’ iconic VIP room, complete with a drink.
