Netflix has set January 13 as the premiere date for Season 2 of its all-male dating reality series The Boyfriend. The show, which debuted as Japan’s first reality format following men pursuing romantic connections with other men, became a breakout hit in Season 1 as nine participants shared the seaside Green Room beach house and ran a coffee truck, sparking both romance and deep friendships.
Season 2 shifts to wintertime Hokkaido, where ten new boys live together for about two months in the Green Room and operate a peppermint-themed coffee truck as their relationships evolve. To mark the announcement, Netflix released a new photo showing the cast with their arms linked, viewed from behind.
