The iconic fashion saga returns two decades after the original. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” will hit theaters in Japan and the U.S. on May 1 2026, and a first-look teaser trailer and poster have just been unveiled.
The original followed Andrea, an aspiring journalist in New York, who takes a job as assistant to Miranda, the legendary and perfectionist editor of “Runway” magazine. Navigating the high-pressure fashion world and Miranda’s famously exacting standards, Andrea must fight to maintain her identity while earning Miranda’s trust.
Meryl Streep reprises her Golden Globe-winning role as Miranda, with Anne Hathaway returning as Andrea. Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracy Tomz, and Thibault Vermot also return. Director David Frankel teams up again with screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, known for films celebrating strong women like “27 Dresses.”
The new teaser, released on Anne Hathaway’s birthday, November 12, opens with the click of high heels to Madonna’s “Vogue.” Andrea, now pursuing her own dreams, finally reunites with Miranda in a single, electric moment as they exchange the words, “Long time no see.” Glimpses of glamorous parties, runway shows, and jaw-dropping dresses hint at the sequel’s high-fashion spectacle.
The teaser poster features a striking red stiletto, its edgy heel a nod to Miranda’s “devilish” presence, signaling that this fashion world is as fierce as ever.
