Tokyo’s Mori Art Museum will host a major exhibition of contemporary sculptor Ron Mueck from April 29 to September 23, 2026. Known for his hyper-realistic figures—dramatically larger or smaller than life—Mueck challenges perceptions of the human body, presence, and existence itself.
The show follows its debut in Paris in 2023 and stops in Milan and Seoul, marking Mueck’s second solo exhibition in Japan since his 2008 retrospective at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. Around 11 works spanning early masterpieces to recent creations will be on display, including the large-scale Mass (2016–2017). Six pieces, including the early icon Angel (1997), will be exhibited in Japan for the first time.
