The TV anime ‘Yomi no Tsugai’, based on the latest work by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa, is set to premiere in April 2026, running for two consecutive cours. The manga, currently serialized in Monthly Shōnen Gangan, has surpassed 4 million copies in cumulative circulation.
The anime adaptation is being produced by the same team behind the Fullmetal Alchemist series (2003–2011), with Square Enix, Aniplex, and BONES collaborating once again. The main staff brings together a lineup of accomplished creators: Masahiro Andō (Stranger: Mukō Hadan, Zetsuen no Tempest) as director, Nobuhiro Arai (Bungou Stray Dogs) as character designer and chief animation director, Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Golden Kamuy) as series composer, and Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Golden Kamuy) as music composer.
A teaser PV featuring footage from the series has also been released. It follows the protagonist Yuru, born as one of a pair of twins who divide day and night, living peacefully in a remote mountain area before being unexpectedly drawn into battle. The trailer showcases vivid action sequences and brings the characters to life, conveying the story’s scale and tense atmosphere.
