Shintaro Sakamoto has released his new single “Dear Granpa” for digital distribution as of Wednesday, October 15.
The track showcases Sakamoto’s signature lyrical perspective and unique sound, and had already generated buzz when performed during his two solo shows in 2025.
In September, he contributed vocals and lyrics to “Indifference” on the new album 24Hr Sports by El Michels Affair, led by Grammy-winning producer Leon Michels, drawing international attention. This new single marks Sakamoto’s first solo release in nearly three years since his fourth album Like A Fable.
Coinciding with the release, Sakamoto will hold his final solo concert of the year at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on Friday, December 26. The performance will feature a band lineup including AYA (bass/chorus), Yuta Suganuma (drums/chorus), and Toru Nishiuchi (sax/flute).
Tickets for the show go on pre-sale via e-plus starting Wednesday, October 15, at 20:00.
