“Record Day 2025” is set to return with a two-date celebration of vinyl, taking place on November 1 and December 6. The annual event, now in its 11th year, was launched by Toyo Kasei in 2015 to introduce the magic of analog records to a wider audience. This year marks its first two-day edition in three years, with rock band BAND-MAID as ambassadors and Fishmans’ Shinichi Mogi serving as special supporter.
The first day will feature 35 titles from Avex under the “avex Hits on ViNYL” series. TRF’s first through sixth albums will be pressed on LP for the first time, while globe celebrates their 30th anniversary with four early million-selling albums—globe, FACES PLACES, Love again, and Relation—released together on vinyl. Additional releases include 23 titles from artists such as Koda Kumi and MAX.
The second day spotlights Every Little Thing’s 30th anniversary with four 7-inch singles as part of their 48-single reissue project. Tomita Lab will release a newly remixed and remastered LP of Shipahead [2025 Mix], and Ayumi Hamasaki’s first to sixth albums will also be pressed for vinyl, among a total of 12 titles. Other noteworthy releases include S.A.R.’s 202, Sarasa’s debut album Inner Ocean, and the original soundtrack for 5 Centimeters per Second by Fumitake Ezaki.
In a special collaboration, the December 6 event will also feature Shimokitazawa Recoichi, a vinyl market and outdoor DJ event hosted by THE Love Ningen at the former Odakyu line site next to Super Ozeki Shimokitazawa. Using Technics’ mobile listening room “Sound Trailer,” DJs selected by music platform TSUBAKI fm and Hiroko Otsuka from Key of Life+ will spin live. Admission is free.
