Sam Raimi’s new film “HELP / Island of Vengeance” (original title: Send Help) is set to hit Japanese theaters on January 30, 2026 (Friday). Alongside the announcement, a teaser trailer has been released.
Raimi, known for the cult classic “The Evil Dead” (1981) — a film that masterfully captured human terror in an isolated setting — returns to familiar territory with “HELP / Island of Vengeance.” This time, he explores human madness and the dark depths of vengeance on a “desert island with no escape.”
The story follows Linda (Rachel McAdams), an office worker enduring daily harassment from her abusive boss Bradley (Dylan O’Brien). During a business trip, their plane crashes, and she wakes up on a remote island — the only survivors are her and her boss. Using her survival instincts, Linda tries to rebuild control over the situation, and the power dynamic between the two begins to shift. But as days pass, her long-suppressed anger and desire for revenge boil over, driving both characters toward collapse — of sanity, power, and humanity itself.
Rachel McAdams, acclaimed for her performances in “About Time” and “Spotlight,” takes on the challenging role of Linda. Dylan O’Brien (“The Maze Runner” series) co-stars as Bradley, the domineering boss who becomes trapped with her on the island.
