NiEW’s free admission music event “exPoP!!!!! Vol.177” will take place on Friday, September 26 at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Sponsored by the artist support platform bazoo, this edition will feature five acts: Maegami Pattsun Shonen, Yuka Nagase, N.FENI, Honsou Kyousoukyoku, and Hammer Head Shark.
Maegami Pattsun Shonen is an alternative rock band from Fujisawa, Kanagawa. Centered around composer Zuma (Ba/Vo), the group is known for addictive songs and tight musicianship, powered by Oceans Ne (Gt/Vo)’s commanding vocals and Sudari Hito (Gt)’s distinctive guitar work.
Yuka Nagase is a multi-artist active across both the digital (2D) and physical (3D) worlds. In 2023, she released the album “Launchvox”, which drew wide attention for featuring contributions from a range of notable artists including Pasocom Music Club, Iyowa, Amane Uyama, and Mao Sasagawa.
N.FENI began activities in Tokyo in 2020. Centered on alternative and indie rock, the project incorporates elements of shoegaze, dream pop, and vaporwave, creating quirky music and visuals with a unique, genre-defying approach.
Honsou Kyousoukyoku is a guitar rock band from Tokyo. Their alternative band sound combines emotionally resonant vocals, memorable melodies, and lyrics with a distinctive sense of phrasing, all wrapped in an undercurrent of unpredictability. Their addictive songs continue to grow their fanbase.
Hammer Head Shark began activities at the end of 2018 and launched full-scale operations with their current lineup in April 2019. Their sound, tinged with alternative shoegaze, is highlighted by Nagai’s powerful vocals, which have drawn widespread attention. The band earned recognition as an October artist in RO JACK for COUNTDOWN JAPAN 19/20. In June, they released their first full-length album, “27℃”, and followed it with a nationwide tour across eight cities.
