HOLIDAY! RECORDS has released the label compilation CD MAYDIE exclusively on Friday, August 8. The label, which introduced acts such as THE PRODIGY and MUSE to Japan and launched 2000s loud rock band FACT, brings together five of its current artists for this release: Nikoん, POP DISASTER, sfpr, waterweed, and Jūgo Shōjo. Each artist contributes two tracks, totaling ten songs.
For this compilation, POP DISASTER, sfpr, and waterweed wrote new songs specifically for the release. Nikoん features “bend”, a CD-exclusive track distributed at their self-produced Shibuya Quattro event in January 2025, alongside their well-known track “step by step”. Jūgo Shōjo contributes “Hito Tōkō Kyohi”, produced by Danny L Harle of A. G. Cook’s PC Music, and their debut song “Tōhikō”. The album is a CD-only release.
Release events are scheduled for Sunday, August 17 at Yogibo HOLY MOUNTAIN in Osaka and Saturday, August 23 at LIVE HOUSE FEVER in Tokyo. Nikoん, POP DISASTER, sfpr, and waterweed will perform live, and the CD will be available for purchase at the events.
