Netflix has announced that a new episode of the stop-motion animated series Pokémon Concierge will be released on Thursday, September 4. Alongside the release date, new information about the episode has also been revealed.
Set on a tropical island known as the Pokémon Resort — a peaceful destination where Pokémon come to relax as guests — the series follows Haru (voiced by Non), a rookie concierge, and her companion Psyduck as they grow through their encounters with the Pokémon they serve. Directed by Iku Ogawa from stop-motion animation studio Dwarf, the first four episodes, released in 2023, gained international attention and were even nominated for Best TV/Media – Limited Series at the 51st Annie Awards.
With the latest episode’s release date now confirmed, Netflix has unveiled new details, including a trailer, key art, and additional cast members. Two new characters will appear: Kent, a young man who may be Haru’s ex-boyfriend, voiced by Keita Machida, and Dan, a seasoned sailor who travels with Walrein, voiced by Kazuhiro Yamaji.
The episode’s theme song will be a brand-new track written and performed by Tatsuro Yamashita, titled “Onomatope Island.” A comment from Yamashita has also been shared, offering insight into his thoughts on the song and the series.
Tatsuro Yamashita – Full Comment It was an absolute honor to be part of this beautiful project — a collaboration between Pokémon and Dwarf Studios, presented on Netflix. The animation, crafted with such meticulous care — just four seconds a day per team, meaning even with eight teams, only thirty seconds of footage — speaks volumes about the love poured into it. I wanted to create a song that would resonate with that same spirit, something that could stand proudly alongside such a lovingly built world. When I think of Pokémon, one word always comes to mind: onomatopoeia. That playful, imaginative soundscape feels like the heart of it all. In these uncertain times, I hope this little tune can bring a bit of brightness to the world.
The newly released trailer, set to a preview of the theme song, offers a glimpse of Pokémon relaxing at the “Pokémon Resort,” an unexpected reunion between Haru and Kento, and a heartwarming moment of Dan and Sealeo playing by the ocean.
