In celebration of the upcoming International Art Festival “Aichi 2025,” the “Seto Resource Bank” exhibition will run from September 13 through November 30 at the Seto Shinkin Bank Art Gallery in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.
The Aichi 2025 festival continues the legacy of the Aichi Triennale, which began in 2010, and was relaunched as a fresh artistic event in 2022 under the theme “Between Ashes and Roses.” The festival features multiple venues across Aichi, including the Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya, the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum, and various sites in Seto City.
The Seto Resource Bank exhibition, held with the support of Seto Shinkin Bank, highlights the region’s rich ceramic heritage by focusing on local resources that have contributed to Seto’s pottery traditions. As part of the festival’s educational program, the exhibit showcases pottery clay and kiln materials native to Seto, alongside plant specimens and panels that explore the area’s geological features and changing vegetation.
Several artists participating in Aichi 2025 have drawn upon Seto’s natural and cultural resources in their work, and the exhibition aims to deepen public understanding of the environment that inspires these creations.
Admission is free, and no tickets are required.
