NiEW presents the free music event ‘exPoP!!!!! Vol.175,’ scheduled for Friday, July 18, at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Sponsored by the artist support platform “bazoo,” this edition will feature four acts: Gateballers, Texas 3000, SAGOSAID, and GeGeGe.
Gateballers is a rock band formed in Tokyo in May 2013. Currently, the band performs with core members Kaya Hamano (Gt/Vo) and Nara Kudomi (Dr), supported by additional musicians. Their first album, Lemon songs (2016), was selected as a “Tawarecomen” (Tower Records’ recommended pick), and their second album, “The all”=“Poem” (2018), was nominated for the 2019 APPLE VINEGAR Music Award hosted by Masafumi Gotoh. Marking their 10th anniversary in 2024, their solo shows in both Tokyo and Osaka were sold out, reflecting their steady rise in acclaim.
Texas 3000 is an alternative rock band formed by Jojo (Vo/Gt) and Sakiyama (Dr). When they released their first full album tx3k in November 2023, Kirin (Ba) joined as a member. They followed up with the EP Weird Dreams in 2025. Since 2024, they have been running their own event series called WEIRD DREAMS, and in 2025, as part of this series, they held their first performance in South Korea.
SAGOSAID is a solo artist who produces alternative and indie rock songs performed in a band format. Their live shows also feature a full band. While running the music studio “Studio REIMEI” in Nishichofu, Tokyo, SAGOSAID consistently releases new work. In May 2025, the new release itsumademo shinu noha kowai ? came out. The album was recorded with the help of members from VINCE;NT and Veranda, who also support live performances, and was mastered by Grammy Award winner Emily Lazar.
GeGeGe is an indie music project started around 2017 by Ryoto Mizuno as a solo act based in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. In 2020, their sound and lyrics were highly praised, earning the overall grand prize at the “PPCONTEST,” a competition jointly organized by Utonic Inc. and the web music media OTOKAKE. Mizuno relocated to Tokyo in 2023, and in December 2024, released their third full album, Mata Aou. The release show at Aoyama Tsukimi Ru Kun Sou Fu sold out. Currently, the band is actively performing with Takurou Fukuda (Drums), Morito Oda (Guitar), Maeno Rinkai (Bass), and Mizuno (Guitar/Vocals).
