Japanese singer-songwriter Rol3ert, the 19-year-old rising talent born in 2005, is set to release his fourth digital single, “Nerd,” on Wednesday, June 25. Since debuting last August with “sweet tear,” Rol3ert has steadily gained attention, particularly with his second single “meaning,” which has amassed over 500,000 views on YouTube since its January 2025 release. The young artist will also be performing at this year’s FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in July.
The new track “Nerd” delves into the struggles of communication and internal conflicts faced by today’s youth. While primarily sung in English, the lyrics include Japanese segments that add a poignant layer to the song’s message.
Production for “Nerd” was handled by MONJOE, known for his work with yahyel, DATS, and Number_i, while mixing and mastering were completed by acclaimed engineer Masahito Komori, who has worked with top Japanese artists such as Kaze Fujii, Kenshi Yonezu, and Official HIGE DANdism.
Following the single’s release, Rol3ert will hold his first-ever solo live performance on Friday, July 4, at SPACE ODD in Daikanyama, Tokyo. Tickets are currently on sale through various platforms.
