South Korean singer-songwriter yomm, also known as Choi Jungyoon, is set to hold his first live performance in Japan on Saturday, July 12, at BLUE NOTE PLACE in Ebisu, Tokyo.
After studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, yomm began her professional music career in 2017. She has released music through Magic Strawberry Sound, a label home to artists such as SE SO NEON and 10CM, and has also gained recognition as a model, appearing in advertisements for major brands like Nike and Starbucks.
In 2024, yomm expanded her music activities to Japan, releasing the EP Scramble – Tokyo in October through RALLYE LABEL. The EP features a title track blending Korean, Japanese, and English lyrics, all written and composed by yomm herself. It also includes contributions from notable artists such as Shota Aratani, Moto Kawabe (mitsume), Gohfum Tsujimura (Kicell), YeYe, and Jin Ono.
The recording sessions featured musicians Kensuke Takahashi (Qnel), Tetsuji Kasuya (brkfstblend), Jun Miyagawa (LAGHEADS), and Takumi Katsuya, with vocal direction by AAAMYYY.
This upcoming live show marks an important milestone as yomm continues to grow his presence in the Japanese music scene.
For her first live show in Japan, yomm will perform with a lineup including Kensuke Takahashi and Tetsuji Kasuya — both of whom participated in the recording — along with Haruhiko Ueki. Moto Kawabe, who wrote and composed yomm’s second single “Alice,” will also appear as a guest.
Reservations are currently being accepted on the BLUE NOTE PLACE website.
