Fujii Kaze is set to release his third studio album, Prema, on Friday, September 5, marking his first album in three years. The lead single, “Hachikō,” was released early on June 13, accompanied by a music video that has since drawn attention.
Following his success at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025, where he won Best Album and Best Domestic Singer-Songwriter among other honors, Fujii showcased his talents with a memorable performance at the awards ceremony.
Prema features nine tracks, all sung in English, reflecting a fresh artistic direction. The album will be released both on CD and vinyl, with the LP edition available through a lottery system.
The limited first edition CD will include a bonus disc titled Pre: Prema, which compiles seven songs released since his second album LOVE ALL SERVE ALL, including fan favorites like “Michiteyuku” and an unreleased track called “It’s Alright.”
“Hachikō” was co-composed with Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Nolan Lambroza (known as Sir Nolan) and 250, a producer famous for his work with NewJeans. Fujii has shared insights into the song’s creative process, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the track.
The “Hachikō” music video was directed by MESS, known for directing many of Fujii Kaze’s videos such as “Matsuri” and “Hana.” It showcases Fujii Kaze appearing at iconic spots like Shibuya’s scramble crossing and the “Tenshin Amaguri” chestnut stall, while also performing in futuristic costumes within a sci-fi-inspired setting, resulting in a visually captivating video.
