Ringo Sheena is set to release her latest single, “Susuki ni Tsuki,” on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The track debuted during her highly anticipated 2024 arena tour, marking her first arena performances in six years.
The new single is a reimagined version of a song originally created by APPA, the band led by Ichiyo Izawa, who also serves as the keyboardist for both the tour band and Sheena’s well-known group Tokyo Incidents. For this release, Sheena took charge of the lyrics, Izawa composed the music, and Yoichi Murata handled the arrangement.
In addition to “Susuki ni Tsuki,” the single features a B-side titled “Matsu ni Tsuru,” another new composition with lyrics by Sheena and music composed and arranged by Izawa.
Both song titles reference traditional Japanese hanafuda playing cards: “Susuki ni Tsuki” represents the August card showing pampas grass on a mountain under the moon, while “Matsu ni Tsuru” corresponds to the January card depicting pine trees and cranes. These cards are traditionally viewed as symbols of good fortune, adding a meaningful cultural layer to the release.
