Born in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, JJJ made his mark as a rapper, DJ, and trackmaker, known for his innovative contributions across multiple genres. He debuted in 2013 with the formation of Fla$hBackS, a group he co-founded with febb as Young Mason and KID FRESINO. Their debut album, FL$8KS, helped establish JJJ as a rising star. The following year, he released his first solo album, Yacht Club, which was well-received by fans and critics alike. Over the years, JJJ released three full-length albums, continuing to evolve his sound and grow his fanbase.
In 2024, JJJ reached a major career milestone with his largest solo performance at Hibiya Park’s Large Music Hall (affectionately known as “Noon”). The event sold out within minutes, showcasing his immense popularity. His impact was undeniable, with his unique blend of hip-hop and experimental sounds influencing both the Japanese and global music scenes. In an exciting development, JJJ was also set to headline the POP YOURS festival in May 2025, one of Japan’s biggest hip-hop events, and had planned a nationwide tour, the light tour, scheduled for June, with stops in five cities.
Sadly, JJJ’s health took a turn, leading to the cancellation of his performance at the CHOICE 55 live event on April 13. Despite this setback, his legacy as a pioneer in Japan’s rap and hip-hop scene remains firmly intact.
A private funeral will be held, in line with the family’s wishes. Further details regarding JJJ’s scheduled performances and how they will be addressed will be provided soon.
