The film ‘Piece by Piece’ will open in theaters on Friday, April 4.
The film is a film based on the life of Pharrell Williams, a pop culture innovator known for his numerous international hits such as “Happy” and “Get Lucky,” as well as his work as creative director for Louis Vuitton men’s clothing line. The film depicts the journey of a lonely music boy born in Virginia Beach in 1973 who, step by step, becomes an international hit maker, and features a host of star-studded artists.” Daft Punk, who co-wrote “Get Lucky,” Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, and many others are “Lego” in the story.
On April 5 (Sat), the day after the film’s release, a screening with a talk event will be held at the White Cine Quint in Shibuya, Tokyo. The event will be held after the 7:30 p.m. screening, with music journalist Yoshiro Takahashi, who supervised the film’s subtitles, and writer/translator Minako Ikegi on stage, and Reira Okuhama serving as MC. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, April 3. Visitors will receive a “LEGO ®︎ minifigure character sticker” at random.
