The THE VANS OLD SKOOL BLOCK PARTY KABUKICHO will be held over three days from Friday, April 18, to Sunday, April 20, in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo.
This event serves as the grand finale of VANS’ Feel Something New. – Discovering Freshness in the Now. campaign, celebrating the history and culture of the brand’s iconic skate shoe, the OLD SKOOL. Rooted in music and skateboarding, the three-day program offers an immersive experience into the legacy of this legendary streetwear staple, beloved for over half a century.
The Ojo Building, one of Kabukicho’s most striking landmarks, will host live performances featuring punk, hardcore, loud rock, and hip-hop—genres closely connected to the VANS brand. On Saturday, April 19, the lineup includes Otoboke Beaver, MEANING, TOTALFAT, and three other acts. On Sunday, April 20, HUSKING BEE, Wienners, and The Paranoyds—a U.S. band signed under Jack White’s Third Man Records—are set to perform. The lineup for the opening day, Friday, April 18, will be announced at a later date.
Entry to all live performances will be free on all event days. As part of a special VIP experience campaign on April 19 (Sat) and April 20 (Sun), 50 lucky pairs (100 people in total) will be selected via lottery to receive priority entry and exclusive VANS merchandise. Applications are open on the event’s special website until Thursday, April 10.
On April 19 (Sat) and April 20 (Sun), a special skate park will be set up at Kabukicho Cinecity Square, featuring open skate sessions for the public and demonstrations by VANS team riders. A skate market will also be present, offering limited-edition items from skate shops.
Additionally, the event will feature an archive exhibition exploring the connection between OLD SKOOL and music, customization workshops, a pop-up store, and more.
