SICF26 (The 26th Spiral Independent Creators Festival) will take place from Friday, May 2, to Wednesday, May 7, at Spiral Hall and Spiral Garden in Aoyama, Tokyo.
Organized by Spiral, an art center dedicated to the fusion of art and daily life, SICF has been held annually since 2000 to discover, nurture, and support emerging artists. The 2025 edition will feature 100 creators in the “EXHIBITION” section and 70 in the “MARKET” section. Selected through an open call, these artists will showcase their work and presentations across two schedules: “Schedule A” from May 2 (Fri) to May 4 (Sun, holiday), and “Schedule B” from May 5 (Mon, holiday) to May 7 (Wed).
On the final day of SICF26, Wednesday, May 7, the festival will announce the Grand Prize, Semi-Grand Prize, and Jury Prizes for each category. Winners will be given opportunities to present their work in future exhibitions. On the following day, Thursday, May 8, the Audience Award—determined by visitor votes for each schedule—and the Best Sales Award, given to the creator with the highest sales, will be announced.
Tickets for the EXHIBITION section will be available for purchase at the venue’s reception and online via ArtSticker. In addition to general admission tickets, discounted weekday tickets—valid only on Friday, May 2 (Schedule A) or Wednesday, May 7 (Schedule B)—will be offered, along with an “A & B Common Ticket” that grants access to one day from each schedule. Admission to the MARKET section is free.
Additionally, Spiral will host a special exhibition featuring the Grand Prize winners of SICF25. From May 2 (Fri) to May 7 (Wed), the MARKET Grand Prize Winner’s Exhibition, “Rina’s Village: Circulating Words, Budding Hariko” by Rina, along with the SICF25 MARKET Winners’ Exhibition, will take place at the first-floor entrance. From May 10 (Sat) to May 25 (Sun), the EXHIBITION Grand Prize Winner’s Exhibition, “Tree of Life – A Planet of Playing Beings” by Mona Sugata, along with the SICF25 EXHIBITION Winners’ Exhibition, will be held at Spiral Garden. All exhibitions are free to enter.
