LOLOET, the band fronted by Ayako Wada (Ayacho), will release their new single “ELLE” on May 14, 2024, in a 7-inch vinyl format.
Formed in 2023 during Ayacho’s studies in Paris, LOLOET came together with a mission to explore more diverse musical expressions. The band consists of Keito Tsuruya (of Arakajime Kimerararetai Lovers) on bass, hamachi (of Hanazono Distance) on drums, Happymen (Yukio Yoshizawa of ZION) on guitar, and Chan keng (from The SKAMOTTS and THE ZOOT 16) on trumpet and synthesizer. Based in Tokyo, the band has quickly gained attention for its unique sound.
“ELLE,” which means “she” in French, marks the band’s first release in nearly a year. Already performed live, the track features a soft, ambient sound that evokes a sense of sunlight, paired with Ayacho’s poetic, almost spoken-word vocal delivery, blending warmth with strength.
In addition to the upcoming vinyl release, LOLOET’s previous cassette tape and Bandcamp release, une petite pensée, will be available on streaming platforms starting March 13, 2024. The band also plans to release their first full-length album later in the year.
Additionally, LOLOET has announced their first overseas performance, which will take place on June 7 (Saturday) at Yuèxiànlú Jūnxiǎngfū in Taipei. The live show will be in a supporting act format, with further details to be announced soon. Tickets are now available for reservation via a dedicated booking form.
