‘Oasis LIVE AT KNEBWORTH: August 10th, 1996’ will be screened in theaters across Japan starting Friday, October 18.
This film captures the legendary concert held by the iconic British rock band Oasis, who recently announced their 2025 reunion world tour. The live performance took place at Knebworth in 1996, drawing 250,000 attendees over two days. With over 2.5 million ticket requests, the show sold out in under 24 hours. Featuring hits like “Live Forever,” “Wonderwall,” “Whatever,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” the concert is remembered as a defining moment during the band’s peak.

This theatrical release commemorates both the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut and their reunion. It marks the first-ever full-length, uncut screening of all 20 songs from the legendary August 10, 1996, Knebworth concert. Unlike the 2021 documentary Oasis: Knebworth 1996, this is a separate work, offering fans the complete live performance from the first day of the concert.
To coincide with the theatrical release, special admission perks have been revealed. Attendees at participating theaters will receive a limited-edition postcard featuring original artwork, available starting from the first screening on opening day. Additionally, film distributor Culture-ville is hosting a promotional campaign on their official X account, offering fans a chance to win an original poster through a lottery.
In Tokyo, the Kichijoji Odeon will offer unique screenings where viewers can cheer along, creating a lively concert atmosphere. These special screenings will take place once daily during the film’s opening week. Furthermore, life-sized standees of Noel and Liam Gallagher will be featured at TOHO Cinemas in Ikebukuro and Hibiya, allowing fans to take photos with the iconic brothers while holding tambourines. The standees will be available for photo ops in Ikebukuro until October 24 and in Hibiya until October 31.
Additionally, several events are planned in Tokyo to commemorate Oasis’ 30th anniversary and their reunion. The Live Forever: Oasis 30th Anniversary Special Exhibition will be held at the Roppongi Museum from November 1 to 23, showcasing over 200 items, including instruments used by the band and handwritten lyrics. Concurrently, the Oasis Origin + Reconstruction exhibition will take place at the New Gallery in Jimbocho from October 31 to November 24, featuring photography by Jill Furmanovsky, who documented Oasis throughout their career, and new logo designs by Kosuke Kawamura.
