The Tokyo-based four-piece band mitsume announced that they officially went on hiatus as of Monday, September 30th.
Formed in 2009 in Tokyo, the band is made up of Moto Kawabe, Masao Otake, nakayaan, and Yojiro Suda. Over the years, they have released six albums and garnered significant international recognition, including five solo tours in China. In 2024, they also performed at Mongolia’s ‘PLAYTIME FESTIVAL.’ In Japan, they completed their first solo tour in five years, covering Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka this past June. On Friday, September 27th, they held their solo show ‘decade’ at LIQUIDROOM in Ebisu, Tokyo.
The announcement of their hiatus was shared retroactively on their official website and social media accounts on Tuesday, October 1st, at 8:00 PM. It was also revealed that each member will continue their individual activities through solo or support projects.
