The curry event “Tokyo Curry Culture Deluxe: Nippon Curry Archipelago – Winter Hot Shofuku Hen” will be held at Seibu Ikebukuro’s 7th floor event hall from December 27 (Wed).
The event is produced by curry curator Hiroaki Matsu, known as “Curry Cell,” who has visited more than 4,000 curry restaurants. Eighteen curry restaurants from all over Japan will gather at the event, and visitors will be able to enjoy curry at the food court or take it home.
In conjunction with the event, a number of New Year’s feast curries will also be available. Kyoto’s “INDIA GATE” will offer biryani made with whole lobsters, limited to 20 servings a day. Osaka’s Spice Curry Shunhyang Kara will offer a limited 100 servings a day of spice curry with concentrated flavors of winter delicacies such as torafugu (blowfish), oysters, sweet shrimp, and other seafood. Ishigaki Island Bistro Smile” in Okinawa offers a steak curry using a rare part of Ishigaki beef, MISUJI, limited to 10 servings a day.



A booth featuring a collection of coffees that go well with curry under the theme “Coffee is Spice” was also developed. In addition, apparel, sundries, tableware, retort pouch foods, records, and art for curry lovers will also be sold.
