ARTBAY TOKYO Art Festival 2023 will be held from September 15 (Fri.) to 24 (Sun.) in Tokyo’s bay area, Rinkai Fukutoshin area.
ARTBAY TOKYO Art Festival is a part of the project “ARTBAY TOKYO” which aims to connect people and places with art in the Rinkai subcenter area.
This year’s festival, the 2nd edition, will be held under the theme of “CIRCULATION -Circulating the city, people and the world-” and will feature outdoor and indoor installation displays, workshops, performances, XR experiences and other programs.
In the “Flower Square” located on the south side of the International Exhibition Hall Station rotary, there will be an exhibition of works by Osamu Nagaba, and in the “Square of Black and Light” adjacent to the “Flower Square”, a “pavilion” created by curator Yoshida Yamar and members of the architectural collective GROUP will serve as a stage. The exhibition “Artificial Biotope” will be held in a “pavilion” created by Yoshidayamar (Yoshida) and members of the architectural collective GROUP. The exhibition will feature music and 3DCG visuals by Kenta Straw, Sue Fujikura, Misuhiro Hosoi, and Shizo Watanabe.
In addition, the “CIRCULATION BALL” project will allow visitors to experience the latest AR artwork while touring the “Plaza of Flowers”, “Plaza of Light and Colors”, “Dream Bridge” and “Dream Plaza”. The new “Stylie” is a new way of discovering the city’s charms. The aim is to create an opportunity to discover new attractions of the city and to think about the organic relationship between people and the city.
In other areas, workshops using waste materials and exhibitions combining the latest technology and art are planned.
