Tarsem Singh’s visually stunning cult classic “The Fall” is finally getting a physical release in Japan, with UHD + Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions of its 4K digital remaster set to arrive on July 15.
Originally released in Japan in 2008, the film had remained unavailable for streaming for years, earning a reputation as a “lost masterpiece.” That changed in 2025, when a 4K remastered version returned to theaters and sparked renewed attention from audiences.
Now, 20 years after its original U.S. debut, the film will be released on disc for the first time, with the UHD edition featuring Japan-exclusive 4K HDR and Dolby Vision specifications.
The release comes packed with bonus content, including archival interviews with director Tarsem Singh, an interview with costume designer Eiko Ishioka, and a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary. An audio commentary by Singh is also included, alongside a newly added two-minute director’s cut scene with Japanese dubbed audio.
Additional physical extras include a postcard, while the UHD + Blu-ray edition features an outer case and a 24-page booklet. A limited first-edition set, available exclusively via TC Entertainment’s official store, will also include a collection of six acrylic stands showcasing iconic scenes from the film.
